Connecting the world through art…
The six degrees of separation (or if you are in to drinking games, “the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon”) is the idea that all people are six or fewer acquaintances away from knowing each other. I believe this holds true of the art community.
This “Kevin Bacon” game starts out on Benjamin Street in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. And, it branches out from there. Friends of family. Friends of friends. Friends of friends of friends. Got it?
We are oil painters, glass artisans, potters, crafters, acrylic painters, pen and ink artists, etc. If you have a story to tell, you are an artist. And more importantly, if you can feel the story conveyed by an artist, you too, are an artist.

Peggy Bertrand Terpstra grew up in St. Bernard Parish, just downriver of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a retired high school and college physics teacher who has resided since 1984 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In addition to visual art, Peggy is a clarinetist and saxophonist who enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, kayaking, and all things outdoors.
Emily, residing in the Burren, Ireland
Born and raised in Louisiana, Emily discovered a love of art and creativity at a young age. While earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at Louisiana State University, she studied abroad in Ireland on the rugged west coast in a region known as The Burren. She quickly fell in love with the terrain and its people, and after completing her schooling, decided to return there to immerse herself wholly in this unique and beautiful place. This stunning landscape has been her home since 2013. The Burren remains a constant source of inspiration to her work, whether it be the stark contrast between the limestone hills and rolling green fields, the ever-changing light cast by the Atlantic elements, or the rich wildlife that she encounters on a daily basis. Through painting, she seeks to have a conversation with these things, and to reflect the beauty, drama and texture of day-to-day life in The Burren.
